Always A-List: Sip and See Black Vines Celebrates Black Winemakers & Toasts to Black Future

A TOAST TO DIVERSITY Black Vines founder Fern Stroud says her “life work is to bridge the gap between business, art and community,” and she’s been doing that for the last nine years with Black Vines, an annual I traveled to Berkeley, CA for Black Vines, an annual celebration of Black wineries and Black art.

Put on by Fern Stroud, Precious Stroud and their amazing team of partners and sponsors, the event is a true showcase in masterful winemaking, culinary arts, great music and Black entrepreneurship.

Hundreds of multicultural guests gathered at the Ciel Creative Space for the four-hour event that was full of fellowship and joy as rich and full-bodied as a fine cabernet sauvignon.

Guests dined on a decadent presentation of hors d’oeuvres on a massive charcuterie spread, listened to funky sounds from Retro Jukebox, and were able to shop the Black-owned vendors selling everything from custom art to unique jewelry, all while sipping on a vast offering of Black-owned wines.
